The Exquisite Nomic
V2.5.1

1. This is the main rule set. The rules in the main rule set take precedence over the rules in each nomic.
2. Players are only affected by rules in the nomic that their group currently owns, as well as the rules in the main rule set. That is, rules in nomics do not effect every group, just the group that currently owns that nomic.
3. Every active player must be part of at least one group. Each Group will have a specific name, as determined by the group.
4. At all times, each group owns exactly one nomic. Each nomic will have a specific randomly determined surrealist name.
5. At least initially, the best precautions should be taken to keep the rules of each nomic secret, that is, only the group who currently owns that nomic should know what the rules are.
6. Each nomic has the same initial rule: “The rules of this nomic can be changed by a majority vote of the voting players in this group.”
7. A group order will be randomly determined. At the end of every four turns, the ownership of each nomic passes to the next group in the group order.
8. The players determine the length of a round. For face-to-face games, a round may be a few minutes. For Internet games, a round may be a week.
9. If ever an issue arises that involves more than one group, nomic, or the Exquisite Nomic as a whole, the issue is decided by a Full Nomic Vote. Each group votes according to its current nomic. The issue is decided by a majority vote of the groups.
10. Proposed changes to the main rule set are decided by Full Nomic Vote.
